A Stylish York Flat With the One Thing the City Never Has, Parking

Anyone who has driven to York knows the routine. You arrive full of plans, then spend the first hour circling a multi storey. This beautifully refurbished two bedroom apartment in the quiet Holgate neighbourhood solves that before you have unpacked, because a free private parking space comes with it. That space is the thing guests mention most often, and it is one of very few in this part of the city.

Stay in York: A Stylish Flat with Parking

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The flat sleeps four across two bedrooms. The first has a king size bed, elegant decor, bedside tables, a mirror and proper clothing storage. The second has a double bed with fresh linens, soft lighting and built-in wardrobes. The bathroom is a modern suite with a walk-in shower, WC, basin and quality toiletries, and there is heating, an iron, a hairdryer, hangers and cleaning products throughout.

Living Space

The living room is light filled, with a comfortable sofa, a Smart TV and a feature brick wall that adds character. The kitchen runs to an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and all the cooking essentials, plus a washing machine and a dining area that doubles as a dedicated workspace with fast WiFi and Ethernet behind it.

Business guests and anyone working a remote day are properly catered for rather than perched on the end of a bed. Entry is by secure key lockbox, so guests arrive on their own timetable.

More Information

Holgate is one of York’s calmer corners, which counts for a lot in a city that fills up quickly. The National Railway Museum is roughly three minutes away and York Station a ten to fifteen minute walk, so guests arriving by train can leave the car at home altogether.

From there the whole city is walkable, taking in the Shambles, York Minster, the city walls and the riverside paths, with local cafes, pubs and independent shops closer to home for the evenings. The North York Moors National Park is around thirty minutes by car, which is where that parking space earns its keep again.

Things worth knowing before booking.

  • The apartment is on the second floor with stairs only and no lift, so it will not suit anyone with limited mobility or a heavy pushchair, and it is not suitable for pets or infants under two.

  • Check in runs from 3pm to 10pm with checkout before 10am. The street is quiet, though there can be minor daytime traffic noise.
